On the banks of the river Danube, Bratislava is waiting for one of the future gems of slovak hotels, first hotel project of Starwood hotel chain in Slovakia - luxurious 5 star Sheraton Bratislava Hotel. We had the pleasure to meet the hotel´s general manager Floortje Jeukens and sales & marketing director Martijn Mulder to find out more about this interesting project.

Sheraton hotel brand is the statement of high quality service and the best comfort for guests. Sheraton Bratislava Hotel will offer accommodation in luxurious and elegant 186 rooms and 23 suites.

 

 
  
 
There will be an all-day restaurant with open kitchen concept for 120 guests, café, lobby bar, wintergarden with 6m high wine display, vast spa (800 m²), swimming pool, modern fitness center and various spa treatments.
 
Flexible conference area on 711 m², will provide natural daylight in 8 separate meeting rooms and a large Ball room for over 450 persons.

 

  

 
 

 

Location

 
Strong location is one of the highlights of the hotel: corporate offices zone and large shopping center Pribina Gallery, multiplex cinema and National Theatre a beautiful promenade with stylish restaurants and cafés on banks of the river providing perfect opportunities for entertainment and relax with a great potential to become a premium location in the city.
 
Unlike other european cities Bratislava has ignored the river and did not take an advantage of it. Eurovea project integrates the river to the life of the city, it creates new green zone and broaden the city center creating interesting modern space to enjoy the city.

Bratislava comparing to other cities is still missing famous international hotel brands so the opening of Sheraton means also highlighting the city as a travel destination. Despite the fact that in the current situation of low demand Bratislava has an over-supply of accommodation capacities, in the furure terms well- recognized hotel brands may represent an important support of destination management and promotion of the city and country.
 
Floortje Jeukens, hotel´s general manager sees opportunities in the arrival of other branded chain hotels: ´There are still only a few well-known branded chain hotels, but the situation is changing rapidly. Together we can strengthen our goal to promote the city as a tourist destination and attract bigger international events and congresses.
Bratislava is beautiful city with great potential, we should not be too modest to advertise the beauty of the country. You have beautiful nature, mountains, rich history and monuments. We are convinced that Bratislava and Slovakia have a lot to offer to our International guests.´
 
Martijn Mulder, Sales & Marketing Director agrees: ´Bratislava has a great potential. We know that tourists from Vienna come regurarly to see the opera performances in Bratislava. We can see the  opportunity to promote the city more proactively, concentrating on Twin City concept and connection to Vienna. Pre - opening

 
Official opening is planned on 24 February 2010. Martijn Mulder about his pre- opening experiences in Bratislava: ´I am delighted to see how people react to our new hotel. They are curious about how the construction goes and we can see they are looking forward to the opening with us.´
